Meet the Team
Brett Markinson, Founder & Chairman
Brett is a distinguished serial entrepreneur who has founded over 40 businesses over 35 years, focusing on leveraging disruptive technology in DeFi, real estate, consumer finance, and enterprise software.
His ventures have achieved success multiple times, including Hautelook.com and Lowermybills.com, for which he received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award twice. Brett’s most recent exit involved the successful sale of Sole Society to the Camuto Group, where he served as founder and chairman. He is also the Founder and Chairman of Homium, a leading SaaS provider revolutionizing the home equity space in real estate.
Brett holds a B.S. from Babson College with a concentration in entrepreneurial studies and finance.
Laurence Sotsky, Chief Executive Officer & Director
Laurence Sotsky is responsible for all business and technical operations. He is an accomplished high tech CEO with a track record of successfully managing high performing companies and teams. Most recently, Laurence was CEO and Founder of Hopscotch, a SaaS based, venture backed, mobile application development platform company in the sports and entertainment space.
As a member of the SocalTech 50, Laurence has been recognized for his contribution to the Los Angeles Tech community. He has been instrumental in the successful exit of three companies. Laurence's early career was in management consulting where he worked for 7 years at both Deloitte Consulting and Accenture. He graduated with honors from Claremont McKenna College with dual degrees in Chemistry and Economics. Laurence lives in Hermosa Beach with his three boys.
Nick Namikas, Chief Technology Officer
"Techweek100 Entrepreneur" specialized in building enterprise-grade SaaS applications. Prior to Incentify, he co-founded and led the development of CitizenGlobal (Inc. Magazine's “Top 10 Hottest Startups in LA"), a digital media platform leveraged by hundreds of leading public safety agencies (including the FBI) and major media companies and brands. He has led three USPTO patents related to data management and processing.
In partnership with Amazon Web Services and the LA County Sheriff's Dept., he co-developed the LEEDIR Program to facilitate rapid collection/analysis of eyewitness information during terrorist attacks and major emergencies.
Daniel Cox, Chief Financial Officer
Daniel Cox brings over a decade of experience and is responsible for financial management and overall operations at Incentify. After spending the first 10 years of his career at Morgan Stanley, Daniel has spent the last 2 years managing the financials and operations for a leading behavioral data & analytics firm focused on consumer credit.
Daniel holds a B.S. from The University of Tennessee with a concentration in finance.
Laurence Barral, Vice President of Product
Laurence Barral is an experienced product leader working with our engineering team to deliver and elevate the Incentify user experience. Her expertise lies in product vision, product launches, strategic planning, user experience, research, talent management, and coaching.
When she is not drawing workflows on whiteboards, she is spending her time with her family and friends traveling abroad. She is an avid runner and stand up paddle boarder. Laurence holds two masters degrees respectively in Economics and Human Resources Information Systems.
